Orga Deploys Integrated Real-Time Charging and Policy Management

Orga Systems announced today that a “leading Mobile Network Operator” in Asia has deployed its Next Generation Control Point data charging and policy management platform. The platform is designed to enable monetization of real-time services. It can enable bandwidth-based pricing as well as pay-per transactions for value added services. It supports pre- and post-paid subscribers as well as enabling service and pricing models that target specific customer segments.

This deployment continues a global trend among mobile operators that are upgrading their mediation infrastructure to play greater roles in controlling, delivering, and charging for real-time services in an increasingly segmented and data-centric market. The integration of policy management and real-time charging demonstrates the role billing and payment infrastructure increasingly plays in a market where on-demand, application-based services are driving revenue growth. From the customer’s perspective, it’s a matter of pushing one button to order and pay for a service that is then delivered instantaneously. The performance and immediacy of such capabilities is a critical component of the customer experience, shaping customers’ perceptions of everything from network and service quality to an operator’s technical competence.
